My snack bento also contains a few Croque Monsieur sandwiches, a cucumber flower, a homemade cornichon pickle, a little hunk of brie cheese, blueberries in a paper cup, a few cherry tomatoes, and two olives.
If you are wondering where to get the cutters to make the cucumber flowers, I suggest getting them from Amazon. I had really quick delivery and they are so useful to add that special touch to your bento boxes. Here are the two sets that I purchased: Stainless Steel Vegetable Cutters #K8444 "100% Made in Japan!!" and Vegetable Cutters, Stainless Steel set of 6 large #450106.
Yum! Those sandwiches look AWESOME!
ReplyDeleteWant some for dinner right about now...
ah, these are real bento treats--I'd love those Croque Monsieurs!! nice and happy arrangements, sweet how you've used the nifty new veggie cutters!
ReplyDeleteThanks sheri! The sandwiches are really straight forward: two slices of bread, buttered on the outside, then ham and emmentaler cheese on the inside. Grill until golden!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Jenn! Sometimes the little details can really make a difference. These bentos were put together relatively quickly, but a little flower shape here, and a cute pick there really helps.
ReplyDeleteLooks nice and healthy. You have the best backgrounds!
ReplyDeleteGreat snack bento and looks delicious too! Sandwiches are nice to put in the bento box. Cutter can do so much in our bento making, don't you think? (^.^)
ReplyDeleteThanks Kelly! I use scrapbook papers and quilting fat quarters as my backgrounds. As a crafty girl, I have tons of stuff to use for my photos.
ReplyDeleteLia, I agree! Nothing like the right tool for the job making everything so much easier. :-)
ReplyDeleteThose look so good! I love croque monsieurs. We spent our honeymoon in France and there was a lovely little bakery just down the street, I need to make them at home sometime.
ReplyDeleteShannon, aren't French bakeries the BEST?! I was lucky I did a lot of walking while in Europe, or I would have gained so much weight.
